  Distinguished from var. capitellata and var. interhiascens by the presence of squamatic acid.
     
  Occurs in W.A., S.A., N.S.W., A.C.T., Vic., and Tas.; also in New Zealand; found at all altitudes on open soil or on soil among rocks.
